Where/How

Forum members who have contributed a minimum of £17.50
GBP to
the UKRag.net project will have access to

of Calendar
Pro
in
the Scripts/Downloads section
Is there a minimum contribution for Calendar Pro?
Yes, the minimum contribution is £17.50 GBP.
When will Calendar
Pro 2.0.4 be released?
Calendar Pro, like all other Snailsource code will be
completely re-written over the next few months to work
as both standalone and through a number of other systems,
including PhpBB2, etc...
What features
does Calendar Pro 2.0.3 have?
A list of features can be found on the Calendar Pro script
page
Can
I suggest new features to include?
Feature "requests" are always welcome and should
be posted in the appropriate discussion thread: .../viewtopic.php?t=430
What
is the difference between a BUG and a feature request?
> BUG's
are issues that cause serious errors within the code such
as security hole or a function that does something totally
unexpected
> Feature requests
differ in that you may wish it did something differently
but the function does what is documented/expected by the
programmer.
Will
there still be a free version of Calendar?
There will always be a free version of Calendar as Calendar
Lite.

Why do
I have to contribute to that project to get Calendar Pro?
The Calendar Pro script is a purely voluntary project that
has taken many hundreds of hours of hard work. Such work
is only possible if you feel motivated enough to continue
and by supporting a project that supports young fundraisers
to, in turn, support charities you provide that motivation
for continued development
Bottom line, would you work 700+ hours for:
-> 12%
compliments & thanks
-> 27% complaints, criticism
-> 61% 'can't be bothered to say
anything
No? I didn't think so... I should note, it is getting
better and the votes of thanks are a lot more prevelant
Where
can I contribute?
Simply click on the "Contributions"
link
I am part of
a charitable/volunteer organisation, does that make a difference?
Genuine requests from charities or volunteer organisation
are welcome but need to be made by email using an account
from an official charity email address. Registered charities
only please.
Why are SnailSource
supporting UKRag.net?
The project was started by myself (Martin) as an ex student
fundraiser and is the main reason that Calendar was developed/enhanced
in the first place. Any money raised is put aside to improve
training, awareness and projects in the student charity
fundraising world and aims at increasing the amounts students
can raise for charities.
In real terms, the project could help groups to raise
an additional 10 - 20% more money
in
a year. Given
that millions of UK£ pounds are raised by these groups
we're talking 100's of 1,000's more over the next
few
years.
Compatibility / Installation:
How do
I install Calendar Pro 2.0.3
Instructions are provided here: .../calpro/docs/install.php
If I already have a previous
Calendar version can it be upgraded?
Yes. Just use the cal_install.php file to do the upgrade
(there is no seperate upgrade script
anymore)
NB: For Calendar Lite versions older than 1.2.2g please
download the latest calendar lite version and upgrade to
that before attempting upgrade to CalPro
Is
Calendar compatible with myCalendar/Topic Calendar & can
I upgrade from it?
NO - There is no integration or compatability
at present with myCalendar although if a version remains
stable for more than 3 months I will consider a conversion
utility for myCalendar -> Calendar
If I modify my Calendar Pro will you provide support
for those modifications when you provide an upgrade version?
No - Because mods can change much of
the core code, I have to limit support to those modifications
that become an integral
part
of the
code.
You are advised to download and install a diff utility
that can compare old and new versions of files to help
indicate where code has been changed.. This is really only
for experienced coders though.
How
do I install both Gallery->phpBB2 and Calendar together?
A general guide that should help you work around any clashes
in the instructions for each mod is provided in this
support doc
Is Calendar Pro compatible
with other CMS or forum systems (eg:
PostNuke, PHPNuke, etc..)?
Calendar Pro, like all the mods on this site, requires
phpbb2 in its native form to work properly. To date it
has not been successfully adapted to work with the Nuke
module of phpbb2 nor any other CMS systems. Future development
does hope to make this possible.
Further Help:
Where
is Support Documentation for Calendar Pro?
Full documentation is provided here: .../calpro/docs/
Where
can I get help and support?
Support is available via the Calendar Pro forum on Snailsource.com,
here: .../viewforum.php?f=12
What's the best
way to get support?
Post a request for help on the forums (above) and provide
as much details as possible including:
- Version of Calendar Pro and phpBB2
- Error message (if any)
- PHP and mySQL (or other Database
system) versions being used
- Operating system version, name, information
- Any script 'behaviours' noted, or actions prior to the
error.
- Details of any other Modifications installed
- a URL where your installation can be checked
Remember to be patient and don't assume it's the script
(you might be wrong)
What's the
worst way to get support?
Provide no information, demand assistance and generally
act like it's your god given right to get help.
See how far that gets you
How
do I report a BUG?
Check that someone else hasn't reported a bug and see if
a fix has already been provided
Post a message on the Calendar Pro support forum with the
word BUG: preceding the subject and give
as much detail as possible
(see 'best way to get support' above)
Future Projects:

future releases of Calendar Pro be available?
There will be a completely new release of Calendar Pro
that has been re-written from the ground up over the next
few months.
When will

Pro forum.
Where
can I suggest new features for future versions?

How are
new features chosen for inclusion?

- Level of demand (how many people
would like it)
- Time required vs' time available
- Difficulty of implimentation
- Whether a feature is compatible for use with the majority
of browsers/users
